Bridges

Bridges

Having a gap between two teeth can easily be fixed with the help of a bridge. A bridge closes the gap between teeth by having two crowned teeth that act as anchors to the middle replacement tooth. The middle replacement tooth is then attached and cemented in place. A bridge offers a host of benefits, including:

  • Prevents shifting

  • Restores and maintains proper biting and chewing

  • Restores overall speech, including pronunciation

  • Helps to maintain the natural beauty of your smile

If you’re insecure about your smile due to missing teeth, this procedure can be a game changer. Implants are another option for replacing missing teeth and are considered more permanent than a bridge. However, if for various reasons you are unable to have or are not interested in an implant, a bridge is an ideal solution.

The procedure is relatively painless with the use of anesthesia and can be completed in one to two visits. Two surrounding teeth have crowns placed on them and then the filler tooth is situated in between. The filler tooth is attached and then cemented. Bridges may need to be replaced within 5-15 years, depending on how well you care for them. Campbell Dentistry uses state-of-the-art equipment which extends the life of many procedures they’ve performed on patients.
